Today, I’d like to introduce another delicious spot in Asakusa🤗
A couple of days ago, I had a rare day off and decided to explore the area around Sakura-an to find some great eats.
This time, I was on the lookout for places that are 【cheap and delicious】 with a focus on healthy options. Lately, I’ve been eating a bit too much fried food and snacks, so I was craving something lighter, like fish or rice porridge—something gentle on the stomach. I also wanted a place that’s easy to visit regularly.
That’s when I stumbled upon

Their set meal includes rice, miso soup, a small dish of fish, and pickles.
The taste? The simmered mackerel was sweet and comforting, just like a home-cooked meal, and the miso soup was light and delicate, which I loved. I left feeling completely satisfied, and the price?
Only 800 yen, tax included! I was amazed that you could get a fish set meal for under 1,000 yen these days!
The atmosphere was lively, with lots of locals enjoying their meals, giving the place a fun, casual vibe. They have table seating, counter seating, and even a second floor, plus they serve alcohol too!
I really liked both the food and the ambiance, so I definitely plan to go back✨
The menu offers more than just fish—there are meat dishes and fried options as well, all of which looked quite appealing. Unfortunately, by the time I arrived, it was too late for the sashimi bowl (which is also around the same price), but I’m looking forward to trying it next time.
I started looking for a place to eat around 3 PM, but most lunch spots in Asakusa close at 3, and dinner places open around 5 PM. Since I was specifically looking for “cheap, healthy food,” my options were pretty limited…
But finding Mizuguchi was a lucky break! I left feeling happy and satisfied. If you’re looking for a casual, affordable meal, I highly recommend it.
